Treat The Last Hour Like A Handover
Once collection is booked, the job is nearly done. The last hour is about removing friction. The recovery driver does not need a perfect driveway or a spotless car, but they do need the vehicle to match the quote, the access to be realistic and the person on site to know what is happening.
That matters in Burnley because access can change street by street. A clear road in the morning may be packed after school, work vans can narrow a lane, and a small cul-de-sac can become awkward if the car is boxed in.
Make The Car Reachable

Collection day is the final chance to remove belongings. Check obvious places first, then the hidden ones: under seats, inside door pockets, behind boot trim, under the boot floor, in the centre console and inside old bags or folders. Remove child seats, dashcams, work passes, tools, chargers and parking permits.
If you agreed to keep a battery, stereo, private plate-related item or accessory, make sure that was discussed before collection. Removing parts at the last minute can change what was quoted.
Be Honest If Something Has Changed
Sometimes a car changes between quote and collection. A tyre goes flat, keys are lost, a part is removed, or the car is moved to a different address. Say so before the driver sets off if you can.
Nobody benefits from pretending the car is exactly as described if it is not. Clear updates allow the buyer to bring the right vehicle, allow enough time and avoid a dispute at the kerb.
Let The Loading Stay Uneventful
When the truck arrives, confirm the vehicle, the agreed collection, the payment arrangement and anything you still need to keep. Take a moment to make sure the old car is empty. Then let the driver do the loading safely.
