Avoid The Doorstep Guessing Game
Do not invent a document reference, guess keeper details, or ask a neighbour to hand over the car without knowing the paperwork story. That is how a simple collection becomes a weak record.
Before the slot, check the glovebox, boot, under-seat spaces and any folder kept in the house. Old V5Cs often turn up with service books or insurance letters. If it still cannot be found, you can say that honestly and keep the other evidence in order.
